electric window motor interchangability

I need to know if an electric window motor from a mid 80s pickup will interchange with my 78. I know that the connection plugs are different, but both appear to only have two wires going to them.

How can I determine if the replacement motor is good before I install it?

Well hook it up to 12 volts and see if it spins ok. As for interchangeability yes if I remember correctly the regulators are the same.
