Hi,
My 88 blazer with electric windows is having issues with the passenger side window. I have the three switches on the center console. The window goes up about half way and stops. It will go up all the way, if I help it. I measured the voltage with the switch in the up and down position and read 7-9 volts. I then switched the wires over to the driver side switch and had the same results. I then undid a splice in the wires and measured without the motor attached, and measured 12.8 volts. I redid the splice with a good strong solder job and had the same issue. This points me towards the motor, but before I went that direction, I was wondering if there's any more trouble shooting to do to confirm it's the motor.

Thanks
Jack

Sounds like when you put a load on the circuit you have a voltage drop. Could be caused by power wires being undersized or you have a bad ground. Best thing to do is apply power directly to the motor with good sized wires so you rule out wiring issues. I'd suggest something like 14Awg wire. You might find it easier to pull the motor out to do this.
If you do find its the motor what I've done in the past is open the motor up by drilling out the 12 rivets. The lubrication they use dries up and becomes tar-like. Relube the gears with something like bearing grease and then reassemble the motor with 6/32 nuts and bolts.
You may also want to check the window roller guides to make sure that grease hasn't dried out also and making the window stick.
