So what I have done was intercept two of the wire at the high beam switch ( I left the yellow wire connected as normal), I took them to a external switch, this switch I am now using the switch to send power out to plow head lights when the plow is hooke up and I can turn the switch back when the plow is off the truck and operate the standard truck head-lights as if I never touched the wiring. What I have noticed is that when switched it to the plow light position I lose my high beam indicator on the dash, but when in normal mode that all works fine. I can change between high and low with out a problem I just dont get the indicator. I dont have a schematic to diagnos and wonder if someone can give me a hand or a better idea as I would like the indicator.

sounds like your switch is in line before the high beam indicator wire in the circuit.

agree, I just need assistance with where I should tap in and or a electrical diagram....

It worked on my 86, but something is different on the 90

Well, this is a little strange. I have been working on my car headlights, and was looking for a schematic.
For some reason, this one popped up. It seems to be how to wire plow lights on a 1999 chevy.
I was looking for a Mercedes, so no idea why this came up.

the dimmer switch is on the column, if you on the dash came off the switch on the dash you are in front of it. you will have to come off wiring out of column to fuse box
