Folks,

I have a 91 Blazer 6.2 ltr and need some help...I decides last month to remove both front fenders to fix some rust stuff and while it was opened up, I decided to replace the upper/lower radiator hose, power steering hoses, thermostat, all wire loom protectors, repaint fenders, and everything else I could. (Battery trays were a mess and power steering connections are tight at the pump). Job went well - used all stainless hardware. Also installed new front grill/cowl.

On the driver side of the engine block directly behind the power steering pump is a green wired connection (2 attached pics). When working on the power steering pump, I removed this connection but whenI did I was at an odd angle and didn't see where the other end came from. Well now a week later with everything ready to re-assemble, I cannot see where the green wire connects to! In the course of re-looming all engine wires i disconnected many wires and never had a problem. I looked from every angle and cannot see where it goes/connects to. The wire exits out of the main wire loom (protecter) which is on the driver side of the engine. It is directly behing the power steering pump. I can't start it because with the fender out, the battery cannot be hooked up.

I have my Haynes Diesel manual but I'm not the greatest on electrical stuff. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

That wire slides over the sensor you can see in the pic. It's your oil pressure sender...

Thanks, tRusty. I assumed it connected to that somehow (theres no other possible electrical comnection around). Unfortunately, on the sender there is no (male) connection, nothing except what you see. The green wire connection is a blade type and the sending unit does not have a connector for it. Do you believe the tip broke off (possibly)??

It slides over the protruding round part you see at the tip of the sender. It's not a traditional spade connector.

Thats actually your water temp sensor, and the green wire you're trying to hook on to it is a glow plug wire. You must have mixed up a wire somewhere. The sensor wire looks the same, except the plug is open on the side. Look at all your glow plug wires.

You're right it is a water temp sender...but you can clearly see his glow plug nearest is hooked up.

Here is a pic of my 6.2.

You can see the GP wire has a black plug, the water temp plug is white and is slid over the water temp sender.

Thanks. I attached it to the sender (easily). The way that connector attaches to the sender (water temp) is something I did not consider (sliding on from the side). Lesson learned. At a quick glance it looks like many of the other connectors which connect "head on" with either the other male/female.

Thanks again!! Now I can put my front end back together.

Sometimes the obvious eludes me as well. I tend to overthink stuff sometimes...
