Electrical Problem HELP PLEASE

85 Gmc Jimmy Dual Head light set-up. When I turn the lights on all four light up, when i hit the high beam selector they all shut off. Selector swith is good i know that for a fact. Are the top lights a dual filiment light? they are 3 prong while the bottom ones are two prong. Any help would be great I am going nuts over this.

I got a nasty problem in a car. Every time the vehicle is turned on or a blinker is used.. smoke comes out of the steering column. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I had that exact same problem in our Buick. Is it a tilt column? I had to replace the turn signal switch. The wires had rubbed bare in a spot and were shorting out on the column itself. Dont' worry..eventually it'll quit smoking and just go out completely on you. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif
