does anyone have connector pin-out information? id like to know where connector 6288565 is located on the truck. it is the connector for the tail lamp, back up lamp, and directional side marker lamps on the rear of my truck. also where is the back up lamp switch located on an sm465?

SM465 has a backup switch in the side of the transmission, in the case top, sticking out the drivers side.

Yes sir, you may also have neutral safty switch on newer models, it looks the same, you will have to differentiate based on where the wires are going. I think the reverse is always the forward most one, but don't remember. But the switch is simple, power is always fed to it in key-on position, and when in reverse it closes and sends power down the rest of the wire to the backup lights.

Well, even my '73 had factory wiring to the SM465 for reverse lights. I saw it tonight as I dropped my new engine in. It's right in front, top, drivers side, look there some some kind of hole, hole plug or cut off connector, it should be there. That is where it goes.
