My sons 1984 K5 is experiencing serious electrical problems. Initial symptoms were no power to the starater when turning the key. We started at the starter solonid. It checked out fine. We then moved to the ignition switch, checked and replaced it still nothing. Power comming in but nothing back out from the switch. That led us to the fuse block. About one half the circuts are hot. Half the fuse block is dead. We opened it up and the engine bay side looks ok. No visable burnt terminals or wires. The interior side also looks ok no visable burnt wires, but it's not distrubuting power to all circuts. Does this mean the fuse block is shorted and must be replaced? Additional contributing factors, A severly overloaded fuse block with numerous aftermarket accessories some professionally installed and some installed by a novice (my son). Our best guess is that the fuse block overloaded, fried and needs to be replaced. Is their any way to confrim that first? If a new fuse block is neeed where can I locate one?

All thoughts are welcome.

Thanks,
Rick
