I did a short search and couldn't quite find what I was after. I pulled my Optima last month to replace my fender and battery shelf. Finally put it all back together last night, tried to start the engine, and a click then nothing. I had the battery checked and it has almost a full charge. I didn't do anything to the engine or any other electrical work.
Any thoughts? I'm going to hook it all up again tonight and make sure all my connections are tight but I'm baffled. Before I pulled it all apart it usually started within the first second of cranking.
Thanks in advance.

sounds like a bad connection. check your ground wire on the engine side along with the cales on the battery, it will do that is they're loose.

I'm really stumped. I hooked the battery back up after making sure everything was connected and it fired right up. I guess I'll check it daily for awhile and see if anything comes up again. I might end up taking it to a guy I know who is pretty good with electrical.
Thanks for the input Jason4x4.

This could also be a sign of a brush failure in the starter. If it does it again, take a hammer and have the Mrs. turn the key, and you tap the starter with the hammer. If it takes off and starts it is the starter going out. Pretty common thing to see, especially after it sits. It may be worth it to pull the starter, and clean the com of all the brush dust. It most likely was just the fact that it sat for a time and that allowed the dust to settle in the starter.
