Electrical schematic? Rear window won't roll down.

So my rear window seams to have an issue with the circuit that rolls it down. The window is currently stuck in the up position. Up seams to work fine. When I use the tailgate switch or the dash switch it sounds like the up position is working, however the down position does nothing.

I figure if I have a schematic for the rear window motor/circuit it will make things a lot easier on me.

I would say its the little switch on the side of the tailgate that tells the motor that the gate is closed. Mine was doing the same thing. I bypassed that switch and it works great.

edit I have it backwards: it wouldn't roll up if the switch was bad

I have to get out and use my key for mine to work, my switch hasnt worked since I got the truck.

i'm rebuilding my '86 now. Just put all that back in a couple of weeks ago. There is only 3 wires that run to the back window. I think the light blue on goes to the latch switch, the other go the motor. I can look in the morning, there are 3 wires at the inside switch and a pink and orange at fuseblock to power it. This is where I have been hooking up a battery to role mine up in down.

Thanks a bunch. Forgot to update this post.

I took it apart and figured it out. Really simple circuit. Turned out to be the switch on the latch. Cleaned up the contacts and it's all good.

Can't hurt to clean/replace that little braided ground strap. I cleaned that one up, and ran another "aux" ground with some 10gauge car stereo power wire down to the frame. Ran it exposed through the door jamb next to teh otehr wires. Whats the worst thing that happens, it shorts out on the body? Its a ground wire !

Window works so much faster since this added ground.
