electrical trouble need help ASAP

headlights will not come one dash lights wont come on radio wont turn on and radio wont turn on. BUT windows work engine cranks not sure if fuel pump is turning on and i just put in a nother motor. there is a wire that is coming off of the hot lead that i dont remember where it went its an 87 tbi 350 blazer PLZ HELP ME

or if i coould maybe get a picture of where the wire im talking bout goes i kno it goes some where near the altenator

So it was fine before the engine swap but doesn't work now? If so post that pic, check the wires going to the starter. Sounds like you may have left one off.

i never unhooked the starter it cranks fine and all but things dont work like the a/c and teh headlights or dash lights and thinga like that

so no one knows??? its an easy question guys i mean i know it would be alot easier if i could post a pic of the wire but i cant right now. its the skinny wire running of the original positive battery cable where does it go?

The main wire on the possitive terminal goes to the starter and the small wire should go to the main post of the alternator.

That small wire on the pos battery cable must be connected to the big threaded post on the alternator. There should also be ay least 1 other wire connected at that Alt terminal that feeds ign switch and powers the accesories and things that aren't working.

so it does go there... i wasnt sure... so if i hook it up i should gain power back to all that stuff???

yep, as long as both wires are hooked up.
