I am going to swich my old points ingnition to an electronic one. Does anybody know what brand/model will work best. 1971 jimmy, 350, rebuilt carb and headers.

Just grab a regular HEI coil in cap model. 75 to 80 is probably best bet. Newer may have ESC and you don't need that. I have one listed for a 1976 Nova with a 350. If there is a ballast resistor or anything on your you need to remove it. These HEI's just need a 12 volt switched source. One wire to hook up, the rest is in the distributor. You will need new plug wires listed for a newer truck, or cut to fit. The HEI has spark plug looking terminals on cap. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
