Ellis 9400 drill press

I'm looking at getting a big drill press, something that will be inherited by the later generations lol

I'm really interested in the Ellis 9400 model. I was curious if anyone on here has one or has used one before. Id like someone opinion on it before I spend the money on it.

I'm also in the market for a non Grizzly (or other import) drill press. I'm not familiar with Ellis, but if the pict is any indication they use a Mitsubishi VFDs, which are quality units.

Looks like the 9400 is going for about $3400.

Yeah the price doesn't bother me if its a quality drill and will last for a long time. I'm tired of all the import tools flooding the market now days

It says it has a 3 morse taper, makes me wonder if you couldn't do some lite mill work with it. 3" spindle should be ridge enough I'd think
