I’ve got an odd, relatively minor driveline ‘bind’ in the Suburban that I can’t seem to pinpoint. Usually only happens when taking off under a load and only lasts for a few seconds. Also happens when I get into a situation where I’m a little off-camber and turning. Just feels like something’s binding up a bit.

Front and rear U-joints appear to be okay, front and rear wheel bearings seem to be okay as well. However, I did notice that my rear diff was about a quart and a half low and the fluid that was in it smelled a little on the burnt side. :/ Had one of the mechanics at work take a look and he couldn’t find anything obviously wrong with it. Naturally, when we took it for a drive, it wouldn’t do it.

Any ideas?

Gonna need a little more info. What do you mean by "bind"? What does it do or feel like its doing.
If you have a limited slip clutch type rear end, then you might need some additive in it to keep the clutches from sticking.

If it does it when you take your foot off the brake at a red light and start off, then it may be the slip yoke on the rear driveshaft.

Gear lube is supposed to smell bad...but burnt? Maybe you have a clutch LSD and it's hanging up. What kind of oil and additives are you running? I would think of axle wrap, but chances are those rear springs are pretty stout.
