Had an electric fuel pump installed late August, always was a little bit noisy at start-up then was quiet, but now sometimes it rattles so much all the time that it sounds like the truck is falling apart. People stare at it at stoplights and roll up their windows in self defense. It makes young children cry and worry about monsters attacking the planet. :eek1:

Seems to function OK. I think I should just replace it. Aren't these things supposed to work for a long time? Are they this noisy?? It's only 6 months old. Geez:rolleyes:

I would almost have to say that it is not mounted very well and moving around a bit thus causing your overly loud pump.

I would check that then install a new pump if it firmly mounted.

A buddy has a pump in his fuel cell on his buggy, and it is louder than the motor at idle. The damn thing screams.

Hmm, perhaps you need a big insurance policy on that beast, and then leave it running in a bad neighborhood late on a Saturday night? ;)
