Emissions testing

So I thought I had my blazer sold until I found out that Colorado state law requires that the seller have a current emissions test done on the truck

I live in a none emissions county so I removed everything to clean up the engine bay

Any idea where to get parts and anybody have a list of what an 86 k5 came with? I'm thinking I'm in for major headache

CA is the same way, but I sold an old Caddy and bought my blazer without having a current smog cert. I bought my blazer and drove it home on non-op, then did the smog and got my stickers.

86 k5 needs to have egr, air pump, and a cat to pass the visual inspection. You would also need smaller tires on while testing I think 34inch is the limit the emissions dyno can handle. Colo only requires emissions in 7 counties so I would just sell to someone who lives outside the emissions area. That would be a lot easier than finding and installing all the needed parts.

If you need a smog pump with the plumbing and an egr I think I still have the ones I pulled off my 85 K5 when I swapped the engine. As far as I know there is nothing wrong with them and they are just sitting in the garage.

You might also need the AIR manifolds with the EFE valves (might have those too, have to check), as well as the various vacuum lines to connect to everything. You'll also need a evap can if you removed it. The catalyst under the hood will show you how all the emissions hardware hooks up, but those should be the major pieces. Let me know if you want any of the parts.

I'm assuming here that 86 emissions were similar to 85, but you'd have to check your vehicle to make sure.

You must be selling it to orebody in the Denver metro area. We only have smog on diesels in our county.

Guy in boulder county. I live in weld and even they are starting to reach out with the emissions testing. If you live in rural weld county you are fine but greeley and the other towns are starting to require it.

Really sucks that they are doing this.
