energy susp. or offroad motor mounts

I plan on a new motor so figure new motor mounts as well while I can. I am leaning toward poly mounts. Energy suspension has poly inserts for the original mounts but then I read about offroad design which definitely looks stout as heck. Not going to want to go back under there again so which way would be best in folks opinion.

I have the ORD amounts, they’re great and fit perfectly.

If you go poly be sure to get a matched set for the tcase mount so all the mounts have similar flex characteristics.

I figured on that when I get to having tranny and stuff looked at. Everything being mostly original to vehicle it needs a total going thru for sure.

if non crazy offroad i am fine with energy suspension . but if all out build go ORD or others with the simple bushings .

Just don't get the cheap factory replacement rubber ones. They're all crap.

I opted for poly after reading about rubber deteriorating so badly. Gonna go with the heavier duty ones at this point. Do the ORD keep everything the same when mounting engine. They look larger than the clamshell style originals

ORD mounts will bolt up like factory just beefier.

If your going that route, do yourself a favor and get the ORD engine crossmember as well...Greatly stiffens up the frame in the motor mount area and provides the drag link clearance for crossover steering

I vote ORD. I have had them for over a decade. But I am super easy on my truck.

I have energy suspension body mounts and like the. I also have ORD engine mounts and crossmember and they have held up well, but them I'm a mall crawler.

I upgraded twice. From the stock rubber clamshells, because that’s what I had when I installed the 8.1.
Knew I needed stronger, went to the all metal “solid mounts” from JEGS. I wasn’t totally happy, as even those were 3/16 sheet welded together.
Then, I saw the super BEEF, from DIY4X
Mounts. 1/4 steel all around with poly bushing in the center.
Installed those, never looked back.

Unfortunately. DIY4X isn’t around any longer.

I could get by with energy suspension mounts I’m sure . I just don’t want to have to go back under there once I get things done if I was to change directions later. Main focus is to get this vehicle back on the road right now

I have energy suspension in my stock mounts in a few trucks and zero problems for years .
