Ok so I looked at my engine today to see what year it is and this is what is stamped into the pad on the pass. side- V0928PIID. I have no clue what this means and I cant find info online about it. Can someone tell me what year of engine this is?

Also, I got the tranny number it is: 9TK08N. That means it is a 1990 tranny correct? What does "night" stand for? That is what it says the "N" means on the end in my service manual? Thanks

These are prolly date codes... check

the passenger side engine id pad should have 2 sets of numbers...1 being the v.i.n of the vehicle (if all original)and the other an engine shop code, obvious 2 sets....if only 1 set of #'s, considered a replacement motor and will not have a v.i.n and only 1 set of #'s...if been decked=how much removed stamped there... .030

It is not the original engine the orig was a 305 and the PO said he swapped in a 350 when the 305 went up in flames. Still cant find info on the code.

Drivers side, rear of block just to the right of the distributor facing the front bumper will be the block number. Then check on mortec.

night stands for the engine was built at night. They had day and night crews. It narrowed down any problems they might have had.
