in the back of your brain
its been way to long to remember correctly and mix match of parts .

engine carb pad 4*
engine oil pan 2*
trans pan 2*

these sound o.k. ?

looks off to me like tail low . but maybe just cause its a std cab long bed 1ton frame and has a doubler on the end of it . ? ?

I was always in the thought that the carb pad should be level. And that that was the reason for it being angled. :dunno: .Not sure at all though. So no real help

That looks low in the tail to me too. Do you have the 1 ton crossmember inside the rails?

its a almost flat cross member . i have to measure that and verify .

its on the np203 adaptor and 84-older mounts brand new energy suspension . no extra crossmember yet .

true k30 frame . was crew cab cut down and spliced together .

Yeah the flat crossmember is the right one but doesnt it also have to mount inside the frame rails not under?

:dunno::thinking::1zhelp: like i said i dont recall 100% been way to long for my older brain these days .

few more pics .

and yes i have a flat style 84-older on the bottom of the frame rails right now .

carb mounting and trans oil pan level....ususally ends up being a 3-4* tilt at the carb mounting flange.
Are you at ride height already, and/or can you still change up the rear pinion angle to match the drive output?

mockup stage . rear is high and will be dialed in to level the truck out .

so if 3-4* at carb pad then i guess i am there :dunno::thinking:

figured it out on how to keep going for now . . . .

steel one from a loooong term project . . . got 1 sitting in house garage i can take it off of for now . :pimp:

Oh whew! I thought I was gonna have to drive all the way up there get that doubler from you

I don't think I would measure it like that. Why not set it by the t case output angle and ignore the carb base?

I dunno what everyone else is running for overall crank to output angle but mine personally is definitely not 5* down or anything. That seems way extreme.

you got the money its yours ! heck if my one cousin drives up and visits he could get it to texas for you .

i just toss the 205 back on that th400 and be just as happy . only reason i am using it is its been collecting dust .

Well your one cousin makes it up there let me know. Is it a 203/205?

Ah yes I've read that thread before. Since my memory is inundated with all the cool shtuff I'm learning on this site, I will read it again.

The closer to level you keep the drivetrain the more you will help out your front driveshaft angle and keep it from binding if youve got flexy leafs up front.

I think most go 3-4 degrees back or down on the entire drivetrain.

I used to say this but in the last few years have decided, there is no magic bullet number. Set it where it will work for you and go from there.
