Engine angle

It seems like my engine is sitting very nose up. what angle did they come from the factory? Ive put in all new engine mounts from ORD. Thanks
 
They are nose up from the factory but I don't know the actual number. A lot of aftermarket intakes have an angle milled in to the carb mount, if that is fairly level I'd think you're good.
 
Did the previous owner remove the spacers on the crossmember at the t-case/transmission to get a better pinion angle?

Agreed, when I built my truck and drilled the frame for motor mounts and raised the engine up higher I shot for 5 degrees with the trans flat.

I'm running a ORD small block cross member and a Gen 3 truck pan.

When you say “flat” are you meaning 0 degrees or flat/flush with the motor. I don’t see how you can have the motor angled and the trans not on that same angle, but I’m a newb at engine swaps.
 
At what point are you guys measuring the angle of the engine? The bottom of the oil pan?

Across the top edge of the valve cover or across the manifold carb mount if it's not machined with a built-in angle.

I got 4* with my digital angle finder on both of those. Need to make sure you also measure your framerails (somewhere flat along the xfercase area would work) as a sanity check. If the frame has a rake to it, you need to subtract that from your engine angle measurements.

as Greg says, use the carb mounting flange on a gas/carb type engine...in my 6BT I used a level across the valve covers and put the degree angle guage on the level.

The closer to level you put it the easier it is on your front driveshaft angle. If you've got a decent amount of lift you start getting closer to 30º which front shafts don't like.
 
Everything is sitting very high in the frame, ill clock the transfer case down should help alot. Any suggestions ?
 
hard to tell from that picture perspective.

However I just went through this with my K10/454/th400. If I ran a straight edge from frame rail to frame rail under the trans pan I had less than an inch of clearance. This was at the back of the pan, closest to the adapter.
