What looks better. Matching the paint of the truck, or painting the whole inside of it black? Started patching my firewall today and want to paint the firewall before I put the engine and drivetrain in. Prob is, I'm not ready to paint the whole truck, but I want to go ahead and put the mechanicals back in it. I'm painting the truck an ochre color that almost matches the oe paint when I'm done with it.

I'm pretty good with a rattle can these days, thinking maybe I can go ahead and do a semi-gloss black to the engine compartment, inner fenders and such. Then paint the exterior with my cheap gun when the whole thing is back together.

it's more "correct" if the firewall is the body color... some might consider doing it all black a bit hokey, but I've done it many times and thought it looked good...

but on that note, it was only done as an easy "fix", not pulling the clip... clip off, paint it body color imo...

firewall / fenders = body color. if you do this it will help working on it as black would make it way to dark n gloomy inthere and you would wish you had brighter color.

inner fenders and core support = black .
