I know its in the starter wiring.I am going to pull it tomorrow and try and find it, but if i cant how close is this engine harness going to be to my blazer. Its for an 81 chevy truck.:doah::confused:

What year is the Blazer? If it is 81 then the harness should be the same.

I'm no electrical guru, but a grounded power wire will usually result in a blown fuse or smoked wiring. Could it be an open circuit somewhere or just simply a bad starter?

Or bad cables going to the starter/at battery. Use your multimeter (I assume you have one since you're doing electrical work) to check the voltage drop from the battery terminal to the starter while starting. Also look for corrosion on/under/at the grounds and battery terminals.

It was no power, but i found the altenator wire to bat source shorted out
Ill post a pic later

Not to hijack your thread. But I am looking at that same harness for an 1983 k10. Anyone know the differences between an 81 and 83 engine harness?

well i found 3 problems fixed 2 dont know how to weld good enough to fix.
the first was not starting with the key.I found the wire to the s terminal broke inside the wire itself.

2nd was the alternator wire to bat source burnt up it broke at the alternator and was grounding on the case.

The 3rd was a crack in the frame.I drilled a hole to stop the crack and will weld and reinforce it.is this common on these things? I am also going to get the steering frame brace and put it in.

Good you got the wiring sorted.

Cracks are common, usually at/through the steering box bolt holes in the frame. I can't exactly get a fix in where your crack is. What part is that?

EDIT: never mind, I see the motor mount now. Don't know if that's a common crack or not.

In any event, it is an easy fix. And even if the crack isn't steering related, the brace is a good addition.

Ya I think so to,extra help bracing the steering is a good idea.
I ordered my body bushing kit.energy suspension
80 bucks off amazon.
