I am having trouble finding the source of my issue, I swapped over my engine 400SBC, to a different truck and rebuilt a T400 trans.
Truck starts great, runs great and revs up good in park. I have checked firing order put in new plugs, checked cap etc.
When I get on the gas driving it just bogs down, I cannot even get it to red line if I leave it in first gear. Yet with no load it revs up good. Easy driving it is good, just when on the gas?

Any suggestions??

What is the timming set at?

Sounds like the distributor got moved durring the swap.

I have checked timing and everything is on spec. I never pulled dizzy on the swap so it should not be out?

What Vehicle year did it come out of? And what year did you put it into? I am guessing the voltage on the distributor is too low if you still have the resistor wire in the system.

I took it from a 79 CK5 and put it into a 86 K30. I should include I have an MSD AL6 installed. Rev limiter for 6000.

While the truck is idling I have sprayed carb cleaner everywhere and no change in rpm?
