I got this here engine, and it has a lot of 6500rpm 1/4 mile runs on it, and I thought I would take it apart to see how its doing. Glad I did. looks like my bearings got hot....
I got 35# hot idle....65# hot @ 6000rpm. I have a 7 qt. pan, and a high volume pump. Is my oil suspect or what? I broke the engine in on 10-30 @ 2-3Krpm for cam breakin, then went to Valvoline 20-50.
Rods were resized, crank turned -.010/-010 2 bolt mains/ARP bolts. Assy. is balanced.
Anyhow I'm thinking polish the crank, and new bearings?
And these are small journal rods, which I've heard they is a good forging, and a not so good forging. Can you tell which these are?
