To me, orange always looked too garish. Although black is cool looking, it hides dirt and oil. If I could paint an entire engine I would definitely go with a light to medium gray just for practical reasons.

Navy grey aka Battle ship grey! :p:

I voted BLACK, but I would have to agree with the "BATTLE SHIP GREY" intake, block, heads and all.....who needs chrome anyway?!?

I voted black, too, but you didn't say what color the truck is.... I'm all about making $hit match. Although black would look nice and hide dirt and oil, gray has it's advantages, but OD Green would look PIMP as f*ck!!

fresh cast paint! every1 talking about how black hides dirt and oil! i don't know about the rest of you, but if i have oil streaming down the side of my block....i want to see it! thats why most allmy engines either get hi-temp aluminum or the light grey fresh cast paint

O truck is white.

:waytogo: ELECTRIC BLUE (PONTIAC BLUE)
I agree Oil is usually black, I would like to know where the oil is coming form (on the engine), when there is a puddle in the driveway. Although if there was a signifficant oil leak it wouldn't be had to find, but if it were a small leak dirt and dust would stick to it. I still would paint it Blue.

Chrysler industrial red. It is a darker shade of red. Looks good in my Ford blue engine bay. No. I' m not biased. Yes, I drive a Chevy.

my truck is safety orange, thinking about getting some stick-on real tree camo and cutting flames out on the front.

ANSI Safety Orange – Safety Orange shall be the color for designating dangerous parts of machines or energized equipment.

Orange shall be used as the basic color for designating dangerous parts of machines or energized equipment which may cut, crush, shock or otherwise injure and to emphasize such hazards when enclosure doors are open or when gear, belt or other guards around moving equipment are open or removed, exposing unguarded hazards. When so used, the fact that the door is open or the guard removed becomes obvious. Similarly, the failure to restore a guard, screen or cover is amply advertised and the oversight more promptly corrected.
