Ok, I like to play in the mud a lot. I can't seem to figure out where all the mud is getting in the engine compartment. I don't just mean splashing either, it looks like I dumped buckets of mud directly on top of the engine. My 78 is stock height with 35's and inner fender wells look like they would prevent the mud from entering. I know it is anoob question but if anyone has any ideas on how to prevent this I would be greatful.

It comes from the space between your frame and fender wells. Also from under the engine between the frame rails. Mud get slung every which way by your tires.

No, I don't. Are those stock or do I need to fidn something aftermarket?

Thanks for everyones response!
They come stock...I just threw mine away with the wells.

yeah my truck used to have those rubber skirts but I threw them away cause they were ripped and fallin off. afterwards I noticed that a fair amount of mud got into the engine compartment without them so I would say you should look into finding or making some if you plan on lots of mud. Ive kinda steered away from the mud and like to play in the rocks more cause it makes less of a mess but I still like to sling a little mud every once in a while.

Well since no one has said where you can find them. LMC Truck http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/bzc/0018.html Learn it and use it as a source of great diagrams for parts and I have ordered several things from them.

The parts you are wanting are called Front Splash Shields and run $16.95 each. They attach with plastic push screws that come with them. If you need help with any thing just ask some one will speak up.
