Engine decoding help with poll

I have used the decoders, it appears that my motor may be indigenous to my Jimmy. Is there anyway to know for sure? Is this a good block to rebuild (I read one post on here that it was a "good" casting number)? Here is the info that I have already. Here are the numbers on the front right part of the motor v0726TFH. thanks for the help.

You need to get the numbers off the front pad of the motor . These should be the application the motor is for , and should have your vin partially on it .

Exactly what Paul said. On the front of the block you will have the suffix code and a partial vin. That is unless the block has been decked.
It will be even with the deck, right where the head gasket goes, on the front pas side. On my 87, it is hard to see as the alternator is kinda in the way.

The motor that came with my K5 had the same casting number, it was a 4 bolt 327. When I spun a rod bearing I put in a fresh goodwrench 350. I would have rebuilt the 327 as it was a "high nickle" block. But it was already bored .o60 over, so it became an anchor. I like having the new 350, as I dont have to worry about how long my engine will last, but the cam in the 327 definitely gave it more oomph than my current motor.

He listed the right codes!.."TFH" is the engine code..I'd look it up for him if I were in my shop where my books are..but its 8 degrees out there,and also 1.30 AM!...maybe tomorrow I can post back with the info..it sounds about right for that year (72)--might be a bit later than that,like 73-75??..I'll see if TFH is listed in my books...

Thanks, I found a lot of info searching around. But nothing specific, Im almost positive now though that it is the original motor.

I used that website already. I found another one (after searching the web for hours yesterday) that said it was flint mi, july 26th 1971, 175hp k10. So, unless someone can prove me wrong, I will believe it is the original motor. Thanks for the help...........Did I mention that its the original motor
