So I don't have my donor truck home yet but I have some down time to research the work ahead.

My largest concern (for obvious reasons) is the wiring under the hood of the '00 k3500. Used to be a tbi I belive but it's now a regulated carb setup. Engine compartment is a bit of a mess with wiring possible plow harness stuff.

I have the schematics and I've used the last donor engine harnesses I had on hand for the dually. If I get this home and decide things are too far gon to use does anyone have a part number or source for the engine harness with a carb/elec choke?
Of course this is the 90 k3500 so I'd imagine pre 87 engine harnesses work

If it’s a carbed L29 then just about any gas engine harness will work. None of the L29 ignition system looks to be present. Probably has a large cap hei dizzy and that’s it. Maybe a wire for the choke.

The valve covers usually give it away. But the timing cover would be the easy way to tell.

Can’t go by valve covers. I had those on a 454 with 781s. Anything can be swapped over. Best is to check casting numbers. These motors been out for over 20 years now so anything is possible….

Yea I'm still just hypothesizing I won't have the truck home till tomorrow to nail everything down. Just trying to be proactive about what I'm working with

If it’s got the aluminum timing cover with a spot for the crank sensor at the bottom it’s an L29. No need to run numbers.

4k visegrips come with a free truck.
Wouldn't be hard to make your own loom for that truck.
Definitely remove the plow wiring.
