I have been having issues with my engine , Some history first.The engine is a 80's gm 350 has 30.000 miles on it I have just replaced the dizzy(hei)I had this issue before just up graded to high output coil and low saturation module,cap, coil,rotor.The plugs and wires were changed 3.000 miles ago,The carb(Q jet) was rebuilt a year ago.
Whats been happing is the engine will run ok one day(comes and goes) then it will seem like it's serging or bucking if you will under a load. Yesterday I went around a corner let off gas then back on the gas some what hard and back fired through the carb that has never happened only this once.
I have checked for vacuum leaks,pulled the plugs (look great) The engine runs strong when powering through the gears I only feel the serging (bucking) when I pull a hill or cruising.
Shoot me some ideas,I am going to check fuel system to day as soon as I get off my arse and clean out my garage.
