I have an engine id code of V0819TAY. I know what all the numbers mean, but I cannot find any reference the to last two digits.....AY. The block casting number is 397010, if that helps. Does anyone know what the AY denote?
Thanks

I can tell you from the T that it is a truck engine and the casting number is actually 3970010 and that is a run of the mill 350 chevy (2 or 4 bolt main). That casting number was used from 1969-1980

Thanks guys. Ya, I forgot a zero! Up to late. Rebil, I looked at that site you sent for hours it seemed before your responded to my message. Never thought to look for the TAY, I was looking for just they AY......thanks again!

I was trying to determine if this was a truck engine and a 4 bolt main, but it looks like I'm going to have to drop the pan to make sure. At least the engine is correct for the year/ make of vehicle. The tranny was out of a passanger car. I have since put the truck version back in and I just wanted to see what and where the engine was from.
