how do i tell by marks on the block what year it is? i bought a motor from a salvage yard from an 87 van. the motor had been rebuilt or replaced at some point. and it has no hole cast in it for a mechanicle fuel pump, like my 89 does. it also takes an o ring style thermostat gasket(1994 style), instead of a paper type(1989 style). the other question is, do i need a different goose neck? because the intake manifolr is machined out different to accept this later style t stat gasket, but my goose neck isnt.
