Okay. so from my other post.. I got under the truck, I pulled off the 3bolts that hold the flexplate onto the Torque converter.I tapped the flexplate with a wrench and it made a Ringing noise not a thudd. (Someone told me thats a way to check the flexplate also so can anyone confirm that?) I Put the bolts back in, torqued them to about. 28 ftLbs. started the truck up and.. No knock at idle. when I rev It up the knocking comes. I got underneath the truck with it running, and had a buddy rev it up. it is definitely louder from underneath the truck. and still sounds like its coming from the flexplate/TC area.
so what should I do

Most of the time you can see the cracks. Un bolt it again and move the flexplate some with a prybar see if you can hear a poping noise coming from the cracks if it has any.

Generally if you unblolt the torque converter and smack it with a wrenc or other metal object a good one will carry a note like a tuning fork. Bad ones when hit most times make more of a buzz and will not carry a note. The only true way to know is to have the flexplate in hand. Also when they crack they like to produce rusty dust near the crack. And when running with a cracked flexplate the noise i hear most is a chirping.

Hope that helsp and isnt just a run on of random experiences ive had:waytogo:

When you had the inspection cover off and had it unbolted from the tc, why didn't you turn it over by hand and give it a visual inspection? :dunno:

While you are under there again, check the bellhousing to block bolts and make sure they are tight. I've seen them loosen up and cause all kinds of noises and eventually problems, big problems.

okay I pulled my oil pan and guess what.. GUESS WHAT!?!?!?

silver oil and shavings on the bottom of my pan.. so anyone got a gallon of gas to spare. and some matches?..

That don't sound good. Can you tell where its from?
I can't think of a good place for it to be coming from, but some are worse than others.

it looks like it's from the cylinder Right above the oil pump. Oh well time to get a new motor. :(

I thank Everyone that has helped and Gave me Info, Advice, and suggestions

just hope it doesn't come apart looking like this :p:

Well that really sucks. I was hoping for a better outcome. Like a cracked flexplate.

Any idea what the failure was? See any scoring on the cylinder walls like a cracked ring?

If you tear it down or figure it out anytime soon, let us know. I, for one, am curious.

Combination of really bad detonation while going around a corner too fast.......

Update!: I'm buying a used engine.. Just to get my truck back on the road. It's my DD and I'm broke. Found a 350. The guy said He ended up pulling it out because his transmission went out. And he went with a TBI setup. along with the 700r.
but.. what do you think about the price.. $350
