Engine misfiring/ rapid sputter

Thanks a bunch!

Should I just ask for an HEI distributor cap then, or does it have to be specific to my distributor model. (I dont know what Model or make my distributor is)

When you buy your wires, get them for a 75' corvette. They came factory with HEI and ramhorn manifolds, they are plenty long enough to go back behind the heads and then come up under the manifolds.

Gives it a nice clean look and keeps them from being burnt. I have these on the Jimmy as well and it has headers.

Can you post a pic of your vette cable routing so I can see how u did it? Thanks a bunch! :)

Got the coil swapped out installed into the new hei cap. Installed new rotor too. Still misses though. but wait, there's more... :)

I pulled one plug and holy crap, not too sure how it even runs. Gonna buy new set tomorrow morning and get them installed. Does it matter if I go with platinum, copper, double platinum, solid gold, titanium, etc? Lol. Seriously though, does it do any good to spend 12 bucks a plug instead of 2.99?

No, regular ac delco plugs. Platinums in cars that aren't supposed to have them run poorly/wear stuff out faster. Regular cheapies for these old trucks.

Dude you are always on here ;) I love it!

Hopefully I can help you sometime :) do you have any computer issues?

Thanks again man!

That's another diagnostic technique...

While the engines running, pull one spark plug wire at a time and make sure that the engine stumbles each time. If you pull a plug wire and the idle quality doesn't change at all, you've probably found a bad plug wire.

good way to have a shocking good time if you aren't careful too. :D

At the moment I'm what you might call "unemployed" :D I also have a OCD issue with checking email on my phone. :haha: if I know the answer I'm happy to help out.

As of right now no IT issues but I'll keep you in mind:thumb:

Here's the culprit! (I hope :) )

That'll do! Either way I'm sure it'll be running a lot better after changing that out.
