So i took the Blazer up to Big Bear in Dec. , and as we were up there, my 305 ran like crap. I think it was probably the elevation. But as we came down from the mountain, it ran better, but not like it did before we went up. Now the exhaust smells horrible, and it isn't running like it used to. Could it be the timing or something. Or maybe something to do with the knock sensor, cause i think it came loose.

Is it smoking? Is the gas old? Are your plugs/wires/cap/rotor good?

No, its not smoking, gas is new, and plugs look ok. Haven't checked the cap or rotor yet, but before i left, they looked fine.

It sounds like your catalytic convertor might be plugged up.......

well, I can hear air escaping from around it. I think it might be the joint. What would cause it to plug up?

That happend to my buddy's blazer.....He shoved a broomstick in there to break it all up. He then started it, gassed it, and out came all kinds of crap. It still runs good and this was like 6 years ago:eek1:

smell light rotten eggs? its the cat

they plug up once in a while too, never happened to me but friends have had it happen(Newer body style burbs). Not a big problem as they have run fine for a long times..
