I'm ready to pull the 454 out of the K30 and dump it in the K5, but I need to put it on my stand and clean it up, etc.

I DO NOT have a transmission jack though, so can I pick it with tranny in place, then set it down, etc, etc, or will I break something???
Thanks

My first idea that came to mind was ratchet strap across the frame under trans. Or some blocks. I have done plenty of cars and one truck before, on those we just coathangered the front of trans to the cowl. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Im tired , sorry. Well if trans comes out at same time, while it is on the picker/hoist, lower it on ground , remove engine from trans, then you could carry the trans to a corner somewhere. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Yeah, just pull it all out at once, won't hurt a thing, but take the front clip off....makes things MUCH easier...

If you are going to pull the engine and transmision out as one piece.....beg, borrow or steal an engine leveler. It makes it so much easier to install the combo.
