I have a 350 with a th400 trans and the front pump seal on my th400 is leaking so I'm gonna be puling the trans soon to replace the o rings and gaskets and thought it'd be a good time to just go ahead and replace the rear main as well. The oil pan and the rear main seal are a little wet but not really leaking yet. What all is needed to replace the rear main on a 350? Never done one before. And is there anything to worry about with the front pump seal?

Depends on the year of the block, whether it's a 1 piece rear main or the older 2 piece.

Well it's an 87 TBI 350 it's not the stock engine but I was told when I got it that it was a jasper rebuilt engine. Never checked the numbers or anything but I'm sure everything would be the same as the stock engine

If it's an 87 then it "should" have the 1 piece rear main seal. Easier to deal with and less leak prone after the fact.

Oh ok. So it shouldn't be to bad but you definetly need to pull trans , because its a press in seal right?

Yes,flywheel has to be removed also...seal looks like a wheel bearing seal on the one peice design type..
