have any of you used something called "restore" and is in a silver cylindrical can and you put it in your oil. does it work? my v8 is smoking and has a lot of miles on it and it says it helps that but ive never talked to anyone about it. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Dont use that stuff. Its good if your trying to "sell" a car, but it doesnt work in the long run from anything I've read.

Its also high in copper/etc. I wouldnt bother.

If your willing to give it a shot.. try Auto-rx.com

The results are truly amazing, and you cant buy it at any store. It doesnt fill the metals and what not, but what it sounds like is either you have worn/dried valve stem seals, or stuck ring packs which is having bad compression.

The guys at bobistheoilguy.com rave about it, and im currently testing it out in 5 vehicles. So far, its been fantastic!
