engine running WEAK - squealing

Hey, my pickup coil went out recently and my 85 blazer wouldnt start. I replaced the module in the distributor and coil then eventually pickup coil which fixed it. It now starts up within 2 seconds of turning it over. The only problem Ive got now is it sounds like a belt is loose when i give it more then idle throttle (it makes a squealing noise) but I tightened the belt and its still there. Also, it sounds like its not running very well, and if I put it in drive and give it a decent amount of throttle it will almost die. Does anyone know what this could be? My dad (a mechanic) said the choke could be stuck on. Anyone had this happen to them before? Any input would be great.
Also, I timed it after I put the distributor back in.

That could be the bearings in one of your accessories.

That could be a stuck choke. Take off the air cleaner and make sure the choke is open when the motor is warm.

Sounds like something is binding. If the squealing is nice and constant, pull the belts off and crank it up for a second. Won't hurt anything for a second or so. If no squeal, then start spinning parts by hand until you find one that is hard to turn, or makes a funny noise. Idler pulley, alt., power steering pump etc.
If it keeps squealing, you may have something important coming loose.
First rule for finding a problem that started after you fixed something: ALWAYS go back to what you did and check it and everything around it. I don't think that the pickup coil could rubbing on the reluctor in the dist. and making that noise, but what the heck, pull off the cap and see.
If the squeal is only with the belt on, but you cannot feel anything wrong, let the engine run squealing for a couple of minutes. Then shut it off and feel every pulley. CAREFULLY. The squealing one should be warm to really hot.

BTW, here is my standard for checking for a loose fan belt when your alternator is not charging well.
Run the engine for about 5 minutes with everything electrical turned on to put a good load on the alt.
Then feel the pulley.
Slightly warm, belt is tight enough.
Red mark on finger, belt is slipping slightly, but probably ok just doing it due to high load.
Instant blister, Belt needs to be tightened.
Finger sticks to pulley, belt needs to be replaced, damaged by high heat.
Finger flys off, turn off engine and repeat test with other finger.

Any chance this squealing is the whistling of air through a vacuum leak? I've seen PCV valve tubes come off and make terrible noises like this.
