ok put a new intake gasket on it, ditched the end seals for some rtv and torqued down the intake, fired it up and got it to idle.......very rough, hooked up a vacuum gauge and it was all over the place, checked firing order again, everything looked right, re-torqued all rocker arms down still running rough, sprayed carb cleaner all over carb, and down every part of the intake, nothing.....played with the timing and it is still rough, i pulled a couple plugs and the were drenched in gas, switched carbs again and nothing.....where do i go from here?
http://www.secondchancegarage.com/public/186.cfm They got a cool little animation showing you what the guage is doing and potential reasons why. See what you find.

ok well today i threw a new head gasket at it and adjusted all the valves, before i went any further i threw the compression gauge on it and i got 150psi on the back cylinder 175 on all the others and nothing in the original cylinder i had probs with. i pulled the head back off and nothing looks wrong with it.....am i gonna need to get a new head?

no oil, but that is probably the prob on that one, what about the dead one? if i cant see any cracks in the head does that mean its fine?

squirt about a table spoon or two of oil into your plug hole and do the compession test in the dead cylinder again. That will tell us alot.

im not too worried about the rear cylinder it was fine before, and the head gasket that leaked ended up not being torqued tight enough....i torqued it to 302 specs-65ft lbs and needed 351specs-112ft lbs....whoops anyways the head is off now, im just gonna go buy a new one, i have had nothing but probs with this one.
