So here is my new dilemma which motor should I use for my Suggy build, truck is already a TBI

305 with header and intake rebuild low miles already set up and hooked to the 700 R4 is a TBI

350 former stock car engine cam intake 10:1 comp 202 heads does have leaky front seal that I have to fix tried to fix before but it didn't work would be carbed

454 with TH400 stock runs on propane would have to scrap out my one ton to use it

I have different uses for each of these if not used in the Suggy, 305 for my van when the 4.3 goes, 350 for my Nova when ever I get it done, 454 keep in truck that it is in and use the truck. However none of the uses are needed now and I have other chioces besides what is listed for engine choices like the Nova has a 307 in it that runs fine and I have two other 350 sitting around also.

My guess is the stock car engine will be too high strung for wheeling. The Rat would be fun, but not at the sxpense of a good truck.

Fred2mihi runs a stock TBI 305, and seems to have plenty of power.:D

I can drag my heavy K5 all the way to Moab with a carbed 305 . No reason you can't run the TBI 305 . TBI 305 actually works way better than the old carbed motors .

Build the stock car motor for your pony/musclecar .

Leave the 454 in the one ton , and tow the suggy with it :thumb:

Well they are all together and workng so I'm not going to pull one apart to build :D looks like I'm going with the the TBI 305 but don't tell anybody want everybody to think its a 350  thought I would throw in a pic

Looks just like the 350 in my TBI 93 K2500 :D

If you keep it light , you SHOULDN'T need any more than that anyway . My truggy has less than 300 pounds in tube , and since I have no top or doors or bedsides or fenders or tailgate . I wouldn't hesitate to put a 4.3 in mine :wink1:

i chose the reliable 305.if its in and runs good, why change it out.just more work and prob not gona need any more power than what the 305 can put out anywho.the other 2 would be nice, but maybe too much power for the application.the nove would scream with the built 350 in there.i had the same setup in my impala.lots of fun.i miss that boat.:haha:
