I finally found out what was wrong with mine two weeks ago. The inlet filter in the quadrajet was causing a restriction. I already had an inline filter plumbed in when I went to electric fuel pump so I didn't need it. I took the inlet filter out and had no more fuel starvation problems. I bought two new ones and tried them and the fuel starvation problems returned, so I took it out for good.
