Engine Swap Questions

So I was thinking. What kind of spline would I need from the transmission for it to fit a BBC 454? and we all have came to the aggreance that my np205 nd tranny will mount to a 454?

you won't need any thing differnet on the trans, you'll just need a manual flywheel for the 454, you can't use the 350 one as the 454 is externally balanced.

Once you have the right flywheel, then just bolt the clutch on and everything will bolt up. You'll need the big block accessory drives, and big block headers/manifolds.

Just search craigslist or something for a complete motor with all the accesories and the brackets such as water pump, power steering, alternator, and if you want it AC. I came to find that doing the brackets on my motor after I stupidly just ripped them off the old one and put them asside for a while. Then it took so long to figure out where it all went and it was just a pain. So if you find a working motor with everything for sale at a decent price, all you will need is the flywheel for the 454 which as heath said must be externally balanced, and you should be good to go!!!:thumb:

Lol the great thing is Everything that is on it or in it Yup I bought it that way... lol I want to redo the suspension and exhaust... BTW There is no engine in it right now... We pulled it cause it had a piston knock. Ill have to post a body shot.....

So there she is THE HILL BILLY DELUXE... In all her glory... after I get a new engine and stuff I am going to get her painted gloss white.... But I cant complain it is a great truck and I only got it for a grand I think that is a steal... No body damages to it....:woot:

Wait a sec did you post pics of that before??? I swear I have seen that truck, it had a nasty hood last time I saw it. That new one looks verrrr nice:thumb:

I think i commented on how much I liked your rims. Very sweet. And hood looks great.

Thanks... Yeah I dig the Rims I think I am going to give them a good acid bath and re powdercoat them.... I really like them alot

i know its alittle old to comment about but i have a sm465 in my trail truck and i hit the occasional hill climb and mud whole where some fast shifting techniques are required, the only thing i dont like about mine is just trying to get into 1st or reverse in a pinch.
