I've got an 82 Blazer with a no go 6.2 Diesel and I am putting a small block in it. I need to know the steps involved. My 1st problem is power steering mounts also I read possibly a new TC. I'm sure the info is on a posting here but I can't find it. Thanks HD

dont forget to swap gas tanks, or clean the diesel one out completely for gas. The tranny originally behind a diesel has a different governor to shift right away as opposed to gas motors that rev a little higher. It probably has hydroboost, so keep that and swap to the new small block with factory small block brackets. Save the radiator hoses as they are long and expensive. Not sure on the motor mounts, but i assume they swap right over, i know bbc and sbc are the same for that era truck. Hook 12v ign straigt to the hei or coil +. pretty easy swap if you have all the sbc parts to make it run.

Isn't there another cooler in the diesel radiator he can use as a tranny or PS cooler or something now?

that should be already hooked up if it was there factory. Otherwise i wouldn't touch it.

Re: Engine Swap

Thanks for the info I got the 6.2 out and the small block in and it runs great. A few adjustments and I'm all good.
