Engine Warm up Period- from a cold start

[ QUOTE ]
Perhaps why a 80s carbureted block needs at least a .030" overbore most of the time whereas an 87-94 block really only needs a good honing and ridge reaming with more miles?

Well I guess I got lucky then. When my heads were off (PO overheated motor) to be replaced around 88,000 miles . We saw some of the factory crosshatching still there from final honing. I think I will make it to well over 150,000 before I finally yank the 305 and go with my namesake motor. BTW mine now has almost 130,000 now and runs like a 350 , even with 3.08's and 33's. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
