I for the life of me can't figure out why my truck won't start. It has a quadrajet for a carb. I just re jetted and put new metering rods in and re assembled the air horn. I put .73 jets and .50 metering rods in. The engine was running before I pulled it all apart.

The only thing I can think of is the metering rods are not going into the jets. I believe it's getting gas because after I was cranking for awhile I could hear something like running down. I would assume thats fuel.:dunno:

Thanks guys.

It's possible, but I thought when a ignition module goes bad it will run cold and die when it is warm.

Nope, you're thinking about a coil. Normally when the Ign. Mod. goes bad, it just goes. Did you check for spark, fuel, ect. ?

definately worth replacin the IM , its like 25bux and it prolly burned out due to a lack of dielec grease

Well I kind of messed with it a little after work today for about 25 minutes. It's getting fuel to the carb but it's not spraying out when the throttle is pushed.

Maybe perhaps I forgot to or moved the check ball on the accelerator pump. But I don't recall ever pulling it.
