How do you find out what year the engine was made? My blazer had a 454 in it when I bought it. I want to add headers but I dont know the correct year. I want to make sure I get it right the first time before I order.

You should be fine, hooker headers lists theres for Blazers, P/U, Suburbans 1968-1987. Is it carb or fuelie, that should tell you if its a newer one, tho I believe the headers should work. And big blocks were never offered from the factory in Blazer's. But anyways, to the point. Look in front of valve cover on passenger side, should be a "VIN" stamped into a ledge of the block. Or look at back of block, near where the tranny bellhousing is, should be some numbers there. Take a look at this websight... http://www.mortec.com/bbc.htm
