epoxy on quadrajet casting plugs. issues?

forgive me if this is a dumb question. i haven't seen one apart, so i'm not certain if this is even possible. when you disassemble a quadrajet and epoxy the casting plugs, can that epoxy fall into the engine if it works loose? the thought of what that could do is sickening.

Wouldn't be good, but it generally is softer than aluminum or potmetal.
Like with any adhesive, surface prep is everything.
