Equal Tire Balance...Good or Bad?

Centramatics are the way to go. If i wasnt a cheap-ass i would get a set in a heartbeat. But since i am a cheap-ass, i will continue to run golf balls. It helps living a block away from a golf course with a creek as a border /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would say the trucking industry is using Equal
cars sure do not
the company appears to have been around for awhile now
I think if only a few 4x4ers were buying it they would be out of business by now

Those are called balance patches.
When you have 44" tires, they're sometimes not so "round" and you have to add weight inside to get close to balanced.

I've run equal and was somewhat impressed. I later found out that two of my tires were seriously out of round. I'm sure I would have been more impressed if they were round (42" swampers)
4WPW swapped the two bad ones out, but I sold the set shortly thereafter.

Why wouldn't copper BBs for toy guns work? They won't clog up the valve stems ether. Hell, i'll test it out on my super not balanced thornbirds /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I've heard Equal clumps when it gets wet.

A piece of dirt can turn into a rubber pellet 3/4" in diameter over the life of a tire.

I've heard of people using golf balls, .177 BBs, soft air pellets, and some other stuff. I think if I were going to try anything I'd get some stainless steel or chrome plated shot for slingshots. Another option might be to collect ball bearings from several dozen axles. I guess if you've got beadlocks lead just won't hack it...

I've got a box of golf bollas I'm going to use

I like the centramatics and all but they won't completely balance a MAJORLY lumpy tire like my 38x13x16 TSL
