This is an epic trip guys, 9 solid days of hardcore wheeling Miles and Miles away from any sort of "help" definitely not for the faint of heart

well we made it back last night at 12:30 am.the trip out was 56 miles from the camp site to the hyway then another 95 miles to the house.when we got back to the parking lot my tow rig wouldnt start.damn starter is bad.
the little nelchina was at flood stage on the way out-lots and lots of water.about 1 mile from where we camped it put the hood of my jimmy under about 3" of water lol-hood sits at about 60" from the ground lol.
i got around 160 pics for the week-for got we had the damn video camera with us so no video lol sorry.i will start with some pics and add the damage reports and stories as i go.
heres the 1st big hill.its only about 1/2 mile long but is steep and all loose rock.

the pics were taken at what is known as 4 corners.there are 4 trails that join at that point about 6 miles in from the hyway.it is the 1st place we stoped and had to do our 1st repair.we should of know it wouls set the tone for the week with the breakage.the burban on ags broke a upper shackle bolt.we didnt have any with us but i found a large pin in my tool box.it was slightly too big to fit the shackles and bushing so we drilled out the pieces and put it in then welded it to the inner shackle.sorry i didnt get any pics of the repair.i rechecked it one we got to monument-about 6 miles down the trail and found the inner had broken again.at that time i decided to not to say anything so we could get down off the hil and the fact we didnt have anything else with us to do a repair.the monument hill drop is abour 1500 ft in less than a mile with around 900 ft of the drop in less than 3/4 of a mile of trail.this hill is a killer-around 5 yrs ago a guy lost 5 members of his family on it.hers a pic of the flatter section on my way up it.

i will be the 1st to say it. PITBULLS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they pack up with the littlest mud. places a burban locked front and rear on 40s should just walk threw he was getting hung up.they may work great in the rock down south but up here they are just as useful as a bfg mall terrain.

he should of just walked right threw this spot even with the trailer on it.

my only use for them would be on a street truck not a wheeler.

but there are also places where 46" ag tires arent enought lol

it took my 8k and a 9.5 ti to pull him out.
he did have the fully loaded trailer hooked to him tho lol

heres the hole he was in

on day 2 while running up yakko creek the diesel burbans starter decided to take a vacation.so we had a fully loaded burban with a diesel that refued to start.i pulled the starter and tore it down and found the power lead going into the starter was burnt in 1/2.we drilled a couple holes in the leads and used a screw from a dash to hold it all together and got the engine to spin but not long enough to get the engine to fire back up.so we decided to tow it to a spot where we could set up cam and send some one out to get a new one-i told him to pull and bring a extra diesel starter i had at the house, but nooooooo he couldnt spend 5 min pulling one lol.
i tried to pull him with the jimmy and was starting to get him moving when they told me i wasnt turning the right front tire. guess 30 splin outers,44s,454 and sm 465 hooked to 8k worth of burban just dont work well.

at one point at this same spot we had 3 of the 4 rigs stuck.1st the diesel burban then when i went to go around him i set the jimmy on its frame.then the white burban tried to go around him on the other side and got stuck bad.only the k5 on 42s was still moving and found a way around front of us to get me out then we winched both the burbans out.

That is awesome. But i think your rigs are under prepared. Seriously, i would want Rockwells at a minimum:p:

somebody put the idea of fishing into my 4 year olds head :mad:and that all he wanted to do at every creek we stopped at-i hate fish and havent fished in close to 20 years.well he caught 2 nice graylings on the big o.

lol rockwells would be nice. but not really needed.the truss i built on the white burban after he spun the center section held up fine even with full throttle low range pullling 3k worth of trailer.this is the 1st year i have had a drivetrain breakage.i figure it broke since that was the only tire not on mud and i was in low range 2nd gear with the throttle on the floor tryin to got the dead burban to move.

Nice pics, that trip must have been awesome
