We left Saturday with the Jimmy behind the crew cab and the XJ behind the Excursion. We made it to the "Big O" late Saturday and setup camp. Sunday we continued on to Black River and setup base camp. We spent a lot of time setting up camp and shooting the guns. We continued up the trail on Tuesday. The Jimmy sheared all eight studs on the right rear. We took four off the left and went back to camp with 4 on each. The crossing at the Black was up to the door handle on the XJ. We went back to camp and spent Wednesday deciding what to do and setting up camp then creating a trail out of camp heading up the Black River. On Thursday we headed up the Black looking for the Black River Trail. The Jimmy sheared two shackle bolts and bent one. We made it 7 miles and never found the trail so we started back. The Jimmy started shearing more studs. We went as far as possible with it until the tire fell off in the swamp. We piled in the XJ and went back to camp. Friday we piled back into the XJ and headed home with the crew cab keys in the Jimmy.
We had lots of fun. Saw thousands of caribou and 1 bear. The dogs and kids didn't want to leave. Either did we but we'll have to return to get the Jimmy and our gear this weekend.
