After being on here for almost a month now, I've seen that everyone has their own ideas about how a truck should be built. I'm curious to see what everyone thinks would be the ultimate K5 whether it be a DD, crawler or a little of both. Now I know most everyone is on a budget, but if money weren't a factor. What would be the ideal engine setup, suspension, tires/wheels, intake/exhaust, drivetrain etc. Feel free to throw in anything else you think would make the ultimate K5. I'm still searching for a direction to go with mine.

LS2 with a Whipple blower on it
NV5600
NV241HD/NP205 doubler
Kustom Dana 80 front and rear high pinion axles
53" Michelins
Titanium 2-seater tube chassis with kevlar skin

If you're careful of details you can get it under 4800lbs, have enough power to sling mud with 53s, and enough gear to crawl. It'd cost a fortune though. But it wouldn't be some inane crawler or a big dumb mud truck. And it'd drive down the highway without feeling like you're going to meet your maker.

There was a post about a month ago that went on for 2+ pages with peoples ideal K5 builds....

I like the simple things in life. Being that the 72 K5 is my personal fav. , I'd like a Big Block, say a 454. For a transmission and transfer case, it would have too be a sm465/NP-205. Axles, join the 1 ton club. Lets say a 6" suspension lift + zero rates, and a 2" body lift and some 38" Ground Hawg's. That's just what I'd like.
